Marc is a true Nielsen Audio guru. Before helping found Research Director in 1991, he worked as Arbitron Radio Product Manager, just as the company was introducing its first PC applications, such as Arbitrends™. Marc oversees the development of all software systems related to the production of our products and services, as well as all corporate administration. Marc has a B.S. in Operations Research from The George Washington University and has completed 95% of his work towards a M.S. in Artificial Intelligence from The George Washington University.
Charlie knows radio from the inside out and outside in. He spent 12 years as Vice President of Research/Marketing at Eastman Radio. During that time he was also a member of the Arbitron Advisory Council and Chairman of the RAB Goals Committee. Prior to Eastman, he held positions as Client Service Representative at Arbitron for the firm’s rep/network/agency division, and Account Executive at WWDC-AM/FM in Washington, D.C. You’ll find Charlie involved at Research Director in sales, customer relations, and new business development. He received a B.S. in Administration and Management from Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Industrial Administration.
Steve brings a wealth of programming knowledge and experience to the Research Director team. He has programmed in Washington, DC, Boston, Detroit and Cincinnati and held corporate programming positions for AM/FM and Clear Channel. He is a self-described “data geek” and understands the needs and challenges of programmers in today’s radio environment. He is primed to help our clients exploit their ratings opportunities. Steve has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Maryland.
Like all our Research Consultants, Karen will help your station drive revenue. She entered the broadcast industry in 1989 as Research Assistant at WPGC-FM. Her experience includes Assistant Research Director and Executive Programming Assistant for WPGC-FM, Local Sales Coordinator at WJLA-TV, and National Sales Coordinator at CBS Radio, all in Washington, D.C. Karen joined Research Director in 2005 as Sales and Programming Research Assistant and in 2007 was promoted to Research Consultant.
Kathryn has been an advertising professional since 1990, first on the agency side with Goldberg, Marchesano, Kohlman, Inc. and then as Media Buyer at Mattress Discounters. She joined the Research Director team in 1996. Here she helps clients drive revenue by providing consultation, training, and terrifically effective sales presentations. Kathryn earned a B.A. in Broadcast Management from Howard University.
Nicole joined the team in 2015. Her responsibilities include report generation and quality assurance. Nicole has worked in the Washington, DC area in various administrative roles. She received her BA in Political Science from West Chester University.
Anne brings analytical skills and creativity to her role as Production Manager, making sure that our clients receive high-quality materials in a timely fashion. She joined Research Director, Inc. in 2007 after positions as Marketing Manager for an independent publishing company and in the Promotions Department at WBIG-FM in Washington, D.C. Anne also helps design, develop, and implement internal production systems and serves as webmaster. She holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Maryland.
A recent Ole Miss alumni, Trey Edenfield migrated up north from the southern state of Georgia to join the Research Director, Inc. team in early 2020. With a B.A. in Integrated Marketing Communications, he now uses his knowledge to assist the Sales Research Consultants in finding ratings advantages for client radio stations and crafts informative presentations based on that research. Trey previously interned at Yellowpages (YP) in Tucker, GA, where he helped with their B2B Community Outreach program.
Susan joined Research Director, Inc. in 2015. She assists with data entry, report preparation, and special projects. Susan has worked as a Project Leader/Senior Programmer at various banks in the Baltimore area. She earned her BA in Mathematics at Bucknell University.
Barbara has been with Research Director, Inc. since 1999. With a sharp eye for detail, she proofreads and edits the numerous reports and presentations that the company provides to its clients. She is also an occasional blogger for the company’s web site. Before joining Research Director, Inc., Barbara was a marketing officer for First Virginia Banks, Inc., in Falls Church, VA, and was a manager/writer for the RTC Group in Washington, DC. She has a BFA in Theatre Arts from East Carolina University.
Maggy joined Research Director, Inc. in 2020 and comes to us with a broad background in independent consulting. She has worked in a variety of fields where she wrote, edited, and proofed materials for various individuals and companies in sales, marketing, and education. Most recently, she provided proofing, editing, and writing services for various start-up companies. She supports our team to ensure clients receive accurate and timely data. Maggy earned her B.S. from James Madison University and her M.S. in Marketing from the Johns Hopkins University.
Nakia has been a hugely valuable asset for Research Director’s clients since 2001, completing hundreds of important projects for radio and television stations and providing ongoing consultation and training. She earned her B.S. from North Carolina Wesleyan College in Physical Education with a minor in Computer Information Systems.
Nicole was an experienced media professional when she arrived at Research Director in 1998, having worked for five years as Sales Administrative Assistant at radio stations WXZL-FM and WYRE-FM, and as Administrative Specialist in regional marketing and regional advertising sales at Jones Communications. Here at Research Director, she helps clients drive revenue by delivering consultation, training, and impactful sales presentations that reinforce our clients’ competitive strengths.
Hayden joined Research Director, Inc. in 2019. Beginning his Broadcasting career at Entercom Charlotte, he gained a well-rounded knowledge of the industry by wearing several different hats in the Promotions, Programming, and Sales departments over his five years with the company. Having spent years assisting Sales teams toanalyze and pitch research materials, Hayden brings practical knowledge and insight to his role as Research Consultant. He earned his B.A. in Electronic/Broadcast Media from Appalachian State University.
Matt joined Research Director, Inc. in 2017. He has a B.A. in Communication-Arts from Salisbury University. His role includes supporting the Sales Research Consultants by creating customized presentations that highlight our client stations’ strengths. He also plays a key role in servicing our non-radio station clients. He previously interned in the Promotions Department at WMZQ-FM in Washington, D.C. and worked as a Research Associate at Arbitron.
