Program Directors Are from Mars, Sales Managers Are from Venus
May 6, 2021
On November 2, 1920, the first commercial radio broadcast emanated from KDKA in Pittsburgh. It is likely that on November 5, the Sales Manager walked into the Program Director’s office to pitch the first radio promotion.
And that dynamic has continued for over 100 years.
On May 12, we will be conducting a free webinar that addresses the sometimes conflicting objectives between programming and sales. More importantly, it will highlight how those objectives can be reconciled for the mutual benefit of both parties.
The webinar is: Program Directors Are from Mars, Sales Managers Are from Venus – what we have learned from working with both for 30 years.
Programmers and sales professionals are codependent. No radio station can succeed without a spirit of cooperation between the two departments. However, as each “side” has a different client base, they tend to view the world of ratings differently.
In our free webinar we will explore the following:
- How have radio ratings evolved?
- What do Program Directors think of Sales Managers?
- What do Sales Managers think of Program Directors?
- Where does the balance of influence between sales and programming lie in 2021?
- How has that balance changed over the years?
- What are the differences in how Program Directors and Sales Managers view ratings, commercials, and promotions?
- How can you take advantage of these differences?
In a perfect scenario, both sales and programming are true partners and support each other. However, in the real world, friction often exists. This webinar is designed to grease the wheels for a smoother running operation.
Our highly dedicated ratings experts have been fortunate to work with both sides of the aisle for 30 years. Our services have helped programmers achieve and maintain better ratings and Sales Managers earn higher revenue.
Now, we would like to share this experience with you in a free webinar.
It happens on May 12, 2021 at 1PM EDT. Your registration is just a click away:
We look forward to your participation.
