January 19, 2018
Go to the gym. Choose to eat right. Spend more quality time with those closest to you. With the arrival of 2018 indefinitely comes the stack of the usual improvements that we would like to make in our personal lives. However, a clean slate is also an opportunity to evaluate and implement best business practices for your company.
- Analyze strengths and weaknesses.
What was successful throughout the year? What didn’t work? In order to maximize your return on investment, you must be honest in deciding what areas of your business can be improved and what should be altered. How can you improve a pitch that didn’t sell? Was it even the right pitch to begin with? What was a home-run? Can it be replicated? A new year will give you fresh eyes, energy and a new perspective in determining how to put forward the best representation of your business. - Be open-minded.
This one can be difficult, as sometimes it is hard to admit what you think is right and what numbers show to be right. Is your target demographic really who you thought it was? Are you missing a prime advertising audience or a niche group? This is the opportunity to take a little risk and trust the expertise of those around you will pay off. - Make the most of your time.
‘Time is money, and the early-bird gets the worm.’ Efficiency is key in ensuring sales-pitches are completed as quickly and accurately as possible, and that all available data is combed through to put together the pieces of an advertising puzzle. Being one of the first to figure out their selling points can help you to choose and win advertising business. - Reprioritize.
Look at your business model. Do you emphasize sales and pitching particular clients? Or do you work more on programming and the audience you know you reach? Should resources be reallocated, or does one deserve more attention than its getting? Now is a better time than ever to make a new marketing strategy in an ever-changing industry in order to put more energy into aspects that will help your business succeed.
A new year is a chance to be even better than the last. Don’t miss the opportunity to make your business thrive!
